Product Overview

RFIDSU's Waterproof Fabric NFC Tags are flexible, durable NFC labels specifically designed for integration into garments, uniforms, and fabric-based products that require light-duty washing or exposure to humid environments. Built with waterproof polyester fabric, these tags withstand 50 to 100 household wash cycles at water temperatures up to 50°C — similar to everyday clothing care — and are NOT intended for industrial high-temperature laundering.

Available with NTAG213, NTAG424DNA, and ICODE SLIX chips under ISO 14443A and ISO 15693 standards, they deliver stable NFC read ranges of 0–5 cm for access control, tap-to-verify authentication, and interactive consumer applications. Installation is flexible — sew directly into fabric seams or heat-seal onto garments using a desktop press.

Each tag supports factory-printed logos (text-based), barcodes, and UID numbers, and can be pre-encoded with URLs or serial numbers before shipping. Standard shapes include square and circular options, with full customization available for special dimensions and contours.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

How many wash cycles can these tags survive?
The tags are tested to withstand 50–100 household wash cycles at 50°C drum washing. Note: the printed surface may begin to fade after approximately 20 washes, but the NFC chip and RFID function remain fully operational. These tags are intended for household laundry — NOT for high-temperature industrial washing.
Can I print logos or barcodes on the tags myself?
No. All printing — including company logo text, serial numbers, UID, barcodes, and QR codes — must be completed by RFIDSU at the factory before shipping. End-user printing is not supported due to the waterproof fabric surface treatment.
Which fabrics work best for heat-seal installation?
Polyester, cotton, and non-woven fabrics bond most securely. Fabrics like silk, satin, cashmere, waterproof-coated fabrics, and fine mesh may not bond well due to poor heat resistance. Always run a test sample before mass production.
What’s the difference between the three chip options?
NTAG213 — Best for consumer NFC interactions (marketing taps, access control, simple URL links). 144 bytes user memory.
NTAG424DNA — Adds AES-128 encrypted authentication for secure tag verification and anti-counterfeiting. 416 bytes user memory.
ICODE SLIX — ISO 15693 protocol for longer read range and industrial inventory use. 1024-bit (128 bytes) user memory.
Can these tags be used for industrial laundry or high-temperature drying?
No. The Waterproof Fabric NFC Tags are designed for household-grade washing only. Ironing should not exceed 150°C. Drum drying should not exceed 85°C. Exceeding these limits may cause hot melt adhesive failure, chip damage, or tag delamination from the fabric.
How should the tags be stored before and after heat-sealing?
Before garment integration: Store at 10–35°C (optimal 20–28°C), RH 40–70%.
Before heat-sealing (pre-ironing): Store at 5–40°C (optimal 20–28°C), RH 30–75%.
After heat-sealing: Lay the garment flat to cool completely before folding, packaging, or washing.
